Dandelion Root is used as a food and also for medicinal purposes. It is particularly helpful for the liver with a list of nutritious benefits. It contains bitter compounds that help restore normal liver and gallbladder function. Dandelion root also increases the production of bile and has a laxative effect. It is also known to be a blood purifier and builder, a diuretic that aids in reducing harmful cholesterol levels in the body. Do NOT use it when taking lithium or bi-polar medications. Safe to use during pregnancy while nursing and for children. May increase urination.
Instructions: 1 teaspoon per 8 - 12 oz of hot water. Allow each cup to sit for at least 10 minutes before drinking. The recommended dosage is 2 cups per day.
